5th Annual TIKI Show at M Modern Gallery! Please join us on Friday, May 9th at the opening reception for the m modern Gallery 5th Anniversary Tiki exhibition and SALE!. Since this is our 5th Anniversary, we will be showing off some amazing Tiki works as well as two additional solo exhibitions by Derek Yaniger and Lyle Motley! The complimentary alcoholic beverages, waters, snacks and sodas will be flowing and we'll have everything that is not part of these three exhibitions ON SALE! That's right, every print we currently have in the gallery (and some paintings too) will be ON SALE for that weekend only!

Works of Art Inspired by the Favorite Books of Contemporary Artists including Chris Anthony, Anthony Ausgang, Korin Faught, Michael Hussar, Stella Im Hultberg, Kukula, Joe Ledbetter, Lola, Joshua Petker, The Pizz, Joey Remmers, Nathan Spoor, David Stoupakis, Jasmine Worth, Heidi Taillefer, and Sage Vaughn Opening Reception SaturdaySaturday, August 11, 2007 from 7-10pm On View August 11 - September 5, 2007 Corey Helford Gallery is pleased to present Literartistry, a group show featuring works of art inspired by the written word. As Michelangelo was inspired by Dante's The Divine Comedy and John Everett Millais by Ophelia in Shakespeare's Hamlet, each artist in Literartistry will base their piece on a book that has inspired or affected them in a meaningful way. Upstairs, the Gallery's loft space will be transformed into a classic library stocked with titles featured in the show. Guests will have the opportunity to check out the artists' favorite books for their reading enjoyment – just as they would at a traditional library. The opening reception for Literartistry will take place on Saturday, August 11 from 7 to 10pm and is open to the public. The exhibition will remain on view until September 5, 2007.Located in the Culver City Art District, Corey Helford Gallery was established in April 2006 by Jan Corey Helford and her husband, television producer and creator, Bruce Helford (The Drew Carey Show, George Lopez, The Oblongs). Passionate art collectors, the Helfords are producers on the art documentary The Treasures of Long Gone John and have partnered to open their first gallery. Corey Helford Gallery presents a wide range of artists, from members of the new fine art movement, such as Andrew Brandou, Natalia Fabia, Korin Faught, Eric Joyner, James Naccarato, David Stoupakis, and Sage Vaughn, to early Modernist William S. Schwartz. Notable shows include Charity By Numbers, which was co-curated by Gary Baseman and featured an unprecedented lineup of artists including Mark Ryden, Marion Peck, Shepard Fairey, Todd and Kathy Schorr, Camille Rose Garcia, and Michael Hussar.
